Inclusive Practice

Culturally Responsive Support

We ask, we listen, we do not assume. Support that honours who you are, where you come from, and what you believe.

Our CALD Support Approach

Komplete Disability is committed to providing culturally safe, inclusive, and respectful services for people from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds. We understand that culture, language, family, and community are central to a person's identity, wellbeing, and sense of self.

Our team is guided by a commitment to learning, humility, and genuine relationship - working alongside people to understand what cultural safety means to them as individuals.

We ask, we listen, we do not assume.

Our core objective is to ensure every person feels respected and understood. We work with qualified interpreters and respect the role of family and community in all decisions.

We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of Country across Australia and their continuing connection to land, waters, skies, culture, language, kinship and community. We pay our respects to Elders past and present.

Cultural Safety Commitment

We are committed to creating culturally safe spaces for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples - where identity, culture, and self-determination are honoured and respected.

Self-Determination

We support the right of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to lead decisions about their own lives, supports, and communities.

Trauma-Aware Practice

We acknowledge the impacts of colonisation, dispossession, racism, and intergenerational trauma, and are committed to trauma-aware, healing-informed support.

Community-Centred

We respect community obligations, kinship structures, and the central role of Country in wellbeing and identity.

Intersectionality

We recognize that individuals hold multiple intersecting identities, and we tailor our support to honor the unique experiences of every person.
